Revolution Research wraps up a grant to grow in Orono
ORONO, Maine — Thermal insulation foam board developer Revolution Research in Orono has been awarded a $225,000 grant from the National Science Foundation. The company will use the funding to move into lab space to develop a prototype of its first-of-its-kind, eco-friendly, water-resistant insulating foam board.
Founded by two University of Maine graduates, Revolution Research’s business plan won a $5,000 prize in the UMaine Business Challenge earlier this year. Once the company develops its prototype, it hopes to apply for up to $750,000 of NSF funding to help commercialize the insulation board.
